- ABOUT THE ARTIST
- CV
The Swedish artist Anna Strand works with photography and text as a way of exploring the semiotic borderland between word and vision. How can language both limit and extend our framework of understanding? Her photographs urge the viewer to reflect upon the relationship between the surrounding world, reality, sense perception and conceptualization, as well as the nature and culture of reflection and symbols. Using staged photographs and various types of text, Strand explores and questions our perception of reality.
